Taiyo received a new U.S. patent (No. 6,589,566) for Suntheanine®, its trademarked pure L-theanine, which has been clinically shown to reduce stress without drowsiness. The patent covers the use of theanine for suppressing or ameliorating symptoms associated with anxiety, obesity, PMS, menopause, sleep disorders and autonomic imbalance.

“This patent adds to the over 40 U.S. and international patents, increasing the protection of Suntheanine throughout the world,” said Scott Smith, vice president of Taiyo International. “We are pleased that the U.S. patent office recognized the novel science and technology behind our pure L-theanine, offering the intellectual protection highly desired by our customers”.
